  • What is the difference between CBD and THC?
    Although both are extracted from the cannabis plant, there is a big difference between the two. CBD comes from the Cannabis sativa plant and doesn't product the "high" associated with THC. Instead, the psychoactive effects of CBD help with stress, anxiety, depression, and even seizures. THC, on the other hand, binds with the cannabinoid 1 (CB1) receptors in your brain, which produces the "high". Although it does produce many health benefits similar to CBD, it is not legal for use in many states.
  • What are the health benefits to CBD?
    There are actually many health benefits associated with CBD. Whether taken in edible, smokable, or topical forms, all have positive effects for your health. Some conditions that CBD can help include: - Migraines - Depression - Anxiety - Inflammation, including skin inflammation from eczema - Pain - Seizures - Temporary arthritis pain relief By using a smokable form, you benefit more immediately from the health benefits, as it goes directly into your system. By choosing an edible form of CBD, it may take a little longer to receive the benefits due to it having to go through your system. Topical forms can provide relief to targeted areas such as for joints or for eczema relief.
  • Are there any side effects to taking CBD?
    Side effects are fairly rare when taking CBD. It is tolerated well in your system, even in high doses. If you do notice a side effect, it is typically due to an interaction with another medication you may be taking. These may include: - Appetite changes - Weight loss - Fatigue - Dizziness - Diarrhea If you have concerns, please consult your doctor before using CBD in any form.
  • Can I fail a drug test because I'm using CBD?
    Not every drug test can detect CBD, but there are some CBD-sensitive tests available for employers to use. Hemp can also produce minor traces of THC, which could cause a false-positive for marijuana usage. So, while typically using CBD will not cause you to fail a drug test, it is best to avoid large quantities of hemp usage before a drug test.
  • Is hemp legal in my state?
    On a federal level, al uses of hemp are legal. However, there are a few states that have not legalized the use of CBD in any form. These are: -Idaho -Iowa -South Dakota Due to these laws, The Purple Nugget can not ship our products to these states.
